Dear Families,

We are committed to keeping your student and our community healthy. The following guidelines can be used to help determine when your student should stay home. 

Your student should stay home if exhibiting:                       

  • Fever: 100.4 or higher without medication
  • Yellow or green discharge from eyes. ears or nose
  • New onset of cough/congestion
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Severe sore throat (consult with medical provider if accompanied by headache, stomach ache or rash as it may be strep)
  • A rash (rashes that are itchy and scaly should be evaluated by a medical provider before coming to school)
  • Pink eye (red, puffy, itchy eyes)-needs to be evaluated by a medical provider before coming to school)
  • Other symptoms of illness

Students with a documented chronic condition(s) that cause cough, congestion or allergy-like symptoms should submit a medical note for new onset/change of baseline of symptoms stating the student in not contagious.  

Students may return to school when:

  • symptoms have improved significantly.

AND

  • if applicable,

           fever has been gone for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications

           it has been 24 hours since the last episode of vomiting or diarrhea

           it has been 24 hours since the first dose of antibiotics

Please report your student's absence each day if they will miss school.  It will be marked illness parent verified unless a medical note is turned in.

Please encourage your student to wash their hands and cover their coughs/sneezes!
